Dahla Dam Bridge

Project budget: $344,400

Repairing the Dahla Dam and its irrigation system helps the Afghan government to provide a secure irrigation water supply to most of the Kandahari population. The project also promotes the region’s economic growth by creating jobs and providing arable land. The Kandahar Provincial Reconstruction Team’s Specialist Engineering Team is active in the construction and expansion of the Dahla Dam access road bridge.

Progress to date:

• The new bridge is completed and being used regularly by Kandaharis.
