The Through the Garden Gate: Integrating Women Into Markets project aims to help 1,500 women develop horticulture operations in home-based gardens, allowing them to grow fruits and vegetables to supplement family diets and generate income at local markets.
Managed by the Canadian-based non-governmental organization Mennonite Economic Development Associates (MEDA), and funded by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), the project will benefit more than 5,000 family members of the women involved by providing them with fresh produce for them to eat.
