Responsive Fund for the Advancement of Women

The Responsive Fund for the Advancement of Women aims to promote greater and more equal participation of Afghan women and girls in all aspects of life through reduced discrimination, greater development of their human capital, and increased leadership on their part.

The fund equips Canada with a local, field-managed, quick-response mechanism capable of supporting projects implemented primarily by Afghan organizations. This mechanism enables these organizations to strengthen, accelerate, and influence programming and policies for the advancement of Afghan women in three primary areas:

• economic empowerment;
• access to education; and
• legal protection of women’s rights
