This project focuses on activities that offer protection and emergency assistance (including the provision of food and non-food assistance) to civilians afflicted by conflict or disaster. It also focuses on support for the activities of the Afghanistan Red Crescent Society, on promoting international humanitarian law to parties of the conflict, on protecting detainees and helping them keep in contact with their families, on support to hospital care, as well as on assisting mine victims and on improving water and sanitation services.
