Video on Canada's Signature Project: Education in Kandahar

This episode looks at Canada’s efforts to help build, expand and repair 50 schools in key districts of Kandahar province and to build the capacity of the Ministry of Education to deliver quality educational services.

This is an important component of Canada’s priority to help strengthen the Afghan government’s institutional capacity to deliver core services and promote economic growth, enhancing confidence of Kandaharis in their government.

Canada will invest up to $12 million in this project between 2008 and 2011, further building on Canada’s already significant contribution to education in Afghanistan.
