Celebration Honouring the Opening of the Turquoise Mountain Institute for Afghan Arts and Architecture
On May 9, 2011, William Crosbie, Canada's Ambassador to Afghanistan participated in a ceremony to celebrate the opening of the Turquoise Mountain Institute for Afghan Arts and Architecture, now under Afghan management and in its permanent home of Murad Khane. With Murad Khane fully restored, the Institute and connected community programmes will continue to drive the regeneration of the historic old city and the craft industry. More specifically it will cement the heritage, education and culture and its symbolic place in Afghanistan's future for decades to come. | Full Story
